On the whole, the region's demand for gold increased by 68.48 per cent, from 853 tonnes in 2020 to 1,437 tonnes in 2021. In terms of share of demand for gold jewelry, the region accounted for 67.67 per cent in 2021 as compared to 60.87 per cent in 2020.
